COMUNICADO DE PRENSA
La Federación Interamericana de Abogados (FIA), en ejercicio de su histórico compromiso para con el sostenimiento y respeto del Estado de Derecho y la Democracia en el hemisferio occidental, ante los hechos de público conocimiento ocurridos en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela el día de hoy, condena vehementemente la violencia contra la democracia ejercida por el régimen de Nicolás Maduro.
Expresamos nuestro más enérgico rechazo a los actos que, en forma violenta, ejerce el régimen de Maduro al impedir el ingreso a los diputados de la Asamblea Nacional para ejercer su derecho de elección.
Esta inaudita burla a los valores democráticos que caracterizan al pueblo venezolano exhibe la naturaleza del régimen y constituye un grave golpe a la institucionalidad democrática.
La Federación Interamericana de Abogados reitera su solidaridad con el presidente Juan Guaidó, con los diputados de la Asamblea Nacional y con el pueblo venezolano en su lucha por restaurar la democracia.
La Federación Interamericana de Abogados seguirá con atención los acontecimientos que se desarrollan y reitera su pedido al gobierno venezolano para que se respeten los principios y valores democráticos y constitucionales que deben de prevalecer en todos los países y se respeten los Derechos Humanos como única forma de garantía para la paz social y Convivencia pacífica de sus ciudadanos.

The Inter-American Bar Association (IABA), in the exercise of its historic commitment to the maintenance and respect of the Rule of Law and Democracy in the Western Hemisphere, given the facts of public knowledge that occurred in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela today, vehemently condemns the violence against democracy exercised by the regime of Nicolás Maduro.
We express our strongest rejection of the acts that, violently, the Maduro regime exercises by preventing the entrance of the deputies of the National Assembly to exercise their right of election.
This unprecedented mockery of the democratic values that characterize the Venezuelan people exhibits the nature of the regime and constitutes a serious blow to democratic institutions.
The Inter-American Bar reiterates its solidarity with President Juan Guaidó, with the deputies of the National Assembly and with the Venezuelan people in their fight to restore democracy.
The Inter-American Bar Association will closely follow the events that are taking place and reiterate its request to the Venezuelan government to respect the democratic and constitutional principles and values that must prevail in all countries and respect Human Rights as the only form of guarantee for social peace and peaceful coexistence of its citizens.
