Conferences

Approximately every 12 months, the IABA holds an international conference in one of the countries of the Americas during which time special seminars on legal topics are presented, and IABA Committees and Sections and the IABA Council meet. In addition, social events are held which emphasize local culture and cuisine. Committee and Section meetings serve as a forum for the presentation of papers and the consideration of issues and resolutions related to each Committee's/Section's focus. These sessions also facilitate communication and discussion of current issues of interest to the lawyers of the Americas, to their respective governments, and to various international organizations. The IABA also offers regional seminars, has a Young Lawyers Section, and participates in international conferences and meetings sponsored by other international and national legal organizations.

Seminars

Regional Seminars are periodically held in substantive areas such as intellectual property, alternative dispute resolution, sustainable development of the environment, and women's rights.
