Recibimos el Premio Estado de Derecho – FIA-LexisNexis 2021
El jueves 19 de agosto, DPLF fue galardonada con el Premio Estado de Derecho FIA-LexisNexis 2021, que conceden conjuntamente la Federación Interamericana de Abogados (FIA) y LexisNexis, una compañía dedicada a la difusión de información y análisis jurídico a nivel mundial. Esta distinción tiene como objetivo reconocer la labor de personas y organizaciones de la comunidad legal que han tenido un rol destacado en el avance del Estado de derecho.
En la ceremonia virtual de premiación, Nigel H. Roberts, vicepresidente y secretario de LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation, felicitó a DPLF por sus más de 20 años brindando acompañamiento técnica a organizaciones locales de la sociedad civil en la región latinoamericana, promoviendo el diálogo con actores estatales y sociedad civil y por su liderazgo en la generación de oportunidades para el intercambio de información y experiencias. De igual forma, Roberto Flores de la Rosa, presidente de la FIA, resaltó los logros de DPLF en su trabajo a favor de la transparencia e independencia judicial, la separación de poderes y la defensa de los derechos humanos.
En un contexto con importantes retos para la democracia en América Latina, DPLF apuesta por contribuir activamente al fortalecimiento del Estado de derecho, promoviendo el respeto por parte de los Estados de sus obligaciones internacionales en materia de derechos humanos, cuya garantía es esencial para la cohesión social, la inclusión, la igualdad, la libertad y la justicia en la región.

We were awarded the 2021 IABA/LexisNexis Rule of Law Award
On Thursday, August 19, DPLF was awarded the 2021 IABA / LexisNexis Rule of Law Award, jointly granted by the Inter-American Bar Association (IABA) and LexisNexis, a company dedicated to the dissemination of legal information and analysis worldwide. This distinction aims to recognize the work of individuals and organizations of the legal community that have played an outstanding role in the advancement of the rule of law.
During the virtual award ceremony, Nigel H. Roberts, Vice President and Secretary of LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation, congratulated DPLF for its more than 20 years of providing technical assistance to local civil society organizations in the Latin American region, promoting dialogue with state actors and civil society, and for its leadership in generating opportunities for the exchange of information and experiences. Similarly, Roberto Flores de la Rosa, president of IABA, highlighted DPLF’s achievements in favor of transparency and judicial independence, the separation of powers, and the defense of human rights.
In a context with important challenges for democracy in Latin America, DPLF is committed to actively contributing to the strengthening of the rule of law, promoting States’ compliance with their international human rights obligations, whose guarantee is essential for social cohesion, inclusion, equality, freedom, and justice in the region.
